On September 20, 2024, the property industry came together for an event like no other - PropX, The Propertymark Trust's first-ever TED-style conference, held at Millennium Point in Birmingham. This unique gathering brought over a dozen of the industry's leading voices to the stage, offering delegates a day of inspiration, education, and deep reflection on the challenges and opportunities facing property professionals today.

The event, which raised an incredible £40,000 for The Propertymark Trust, was a resounding success, leaving attendees both moved and motivated. A theme of mental wellbeing ran throughout the day, with several speakers courageously sharing their own personal experiences of navigating difficult times and how they overcame them. 

Personal Stories That Made an Impact

Perhaps the most remarkable aspect of PropX was its ability to weave together business insights with heartfelt personal testimonies. One delegate described it as, “an incredible day that combined powerful personal testimony with business insights.” Another added, “PropX was thought-provoking, inspiring, and an important reminder of the essential things in life, all while raising a fantastic sum for a great cause.”

The event wasn’t just about personal challenges, though. Speakers addressed key topics for the modern property professional, such as effective marketing strategies and harnessing the power of social media. These practical insights were invaluable, adding a layer of professional development to the day’s proceedings.

A highlight of the day was the live interview with Daniel Daggers, star of Netflix’s Buying London. His perspectives on the real estate industry were both insightful and engaging, offering a fresh look at the future of the sector. Delegates were captivated by his energy and forward-thinking ideas, further underscoring PropX as an event designed to educate and entertain in equal measure.

Lauren Scott-Simpson, Chair of The Propertymark Trust, reflected on the success of the event: “I simply cannot thank everyone enough for what was a truly incredible day, especially delegates who helped raise what is a truly astonishing sum of money that will enable the Trust to continue to directly support people and projects that truly matter and make a positive difference.”
