Having started her own sales and lettings agency Trading Places at just 23, Lauren relied on her Propertymark membership for invaluable support during that time. She was voted onto the NAEA Presidential Team in 2017 and saw her Presidency as a way to provide an active role in mentoring and guiding newly qualified agents, or those looking towards a career in the property sector. In particular, she has a huge interest in supporting women in Estate Agency. After a very successful presidential term, Lauren was appointed as Chair of The Propertymark Trust, the charitable arm of Propertymark. Lauren has exciting ideas to further grow The Trust, to ensure we are supporting our members and their families. Lauren’s other passion is her love for horses, she has experienced first hand the healing therapy horses and other animals can give, and is a huge promotor of this to improve wellbeing and reduce stress. She is a mum to two beautiful little boys, and wife to a very supportive husband!
In a career spanning six decades, I began in banking, rising swiftly to branch manager at 24. Shifting to property in the 80s, I became an ARLA director in '93 and later served as Managing Director until retirement in 2016. Post-retirement, I've stayed active in the industry, providing training and qualifications for Propertymark and chairing SafeDeposits Scotland. Alongside professional endeavors, I've been deeply involved in community service, including leadership roles in Round Table and 41 Club. Sports have also played a significant role, from founding rugby clubs to serving as president of my local curling club. Despite considering myself an introvert, I'm driven by a passion for connecting with people and sharing knowledge, both within my family and professional circles.
